Kaushik Jayaram, PhD

Kaushik Jayaram, PhD is an Associate Professor of Bioengineering at Imperial College London and Director of the Insect Inspired Intelligence Lab (III). His research combines biology and robotics to uncover the principles of robust intelligence that make animals so successful at locomotion in natural environments. inspire the design of the next generation of novel robots for effective real-world operation. The III Lab aims to develop a rich ecosystem of robotic devices with potential to benefit human lives areas of search and rescue, inspection and maintenance, personal assistance, and environmental monitoring.

Dr. Kaushik Jayaram has a PhD in Integrative Biology from the University of California Berkley. He then became a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard University’s Wyss Institute where he worked with Dr. Robert J. Wood. Dr. Jayaram was previously an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder.
