The Insect Inspired Intelligence Lab (III) combines biology and robotics to inspire the design of the next generation of novel robots for effective real-world operation. When we better understand what makes insects successful at locomotion in natural environments, we enhance the mechanical, power, sensing, and control autonomy of insect-scale systems. Our goal is to help insect and animal inspired robots approach the capabilities of their animal counterparts.
